Last weekend and for the first time, the 18th Annual Members’ Meeting of the VKD professional association for conference interpreters was held digitally and from the comfort of your own home ;-) Requests to speak were thus made via the 'raise hand' feature in Zoom. Despite minor technical problems, the meeting was followed by a record +/-300 members. But as convenient as an online AMM may seem, and although the virtual gathering space Wonder was rather pretty, we all can hardly wait to meet face-to-face again next year, have a chat during coffee breaks, participate in joint activities and have dinner together!
