Extremely busy

It’s time to make a confession. This Saturday, I will be glued to the TV, watching Prince Harry and Meghan Markle tie the knot. Purely for research purposes, of course. Here’s why: at uni, me and my fellow students had to simultaneously interpret the coverage of the Royal Wedding between Willem-Alexander and Máxima of the Netherlands. To my dismay, I had not read Hello Magazine prior to this (unannounced) exercise, so I was not up-to-date regarding the Dutch royal family. Just imagine an interpreter or commentator mixing up the family relationships, mispronouncing the names or failing to mention the designers of the invited celebrities’ dresses - when you know very well that everybody watching is a total pro (i.e. fan) in this area. So this time, I’m doing my homework. After all, there is a little Prince’s christening coming up - so if you’re still looking for a professional interpreter for that day: I will be available ;-)
