Bomb scare

Paris Airport. Security check. The staff started to get un petit peu nervous and all I heard was an edgy whisper: "On a une bombe!" Really? Someone had tried to smuggle a bomb onto my flight? That's just my luck, I thought. Well, turns out it was my bag they'd checked. Apparently, the French word for pepper spray is "bombe à poivre" (pepper bomb). Oops! Must have forgotten to take it out. I was in a bit of a pickle. Two police officers asked me for my ID, they kept said "bomb" and off I went. For what it's worth, I did learn a new word that day. And while I was on my way to the gate I heard the TSA officer say to another traveller: "On a une bombe ici!" Such a busy day for the airport's staff…
