Is there anything better than watching one Christmas movie after the other during the holiday season? But what did we call binge watching before there were video streaming services such as Netflix and the like? When I was still working in an adaptation agency in London, the English called it omnibus, referring to the reruns of all of the previous week's Eastenders episodes. Ah, how many Saturdays did I spend on the couch in front of the TV just to catch up (I think everyone should be allowed some guilty pleasures)? Back in Germany I was introduced to a completely different term: the GZSZ Marathon. That sounded much more sporty, although it was the same concept, namely to watch all episodes from Monday through Friday in one go. And that's why, true to the motto, I spent my Saturday mornings on the treadmill in my gym, in the first row, right in front of the big video screen to binge on that series!
